Bhaktavatsalam Vidyashram is a school in Korattur, Chennai, India. It was founded in 1989 and mainly follows the CBSE standard of education, though there is a separate Tamil Nadu State board for high school. It is named after the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Mr. Bhaktavatsalam. It exchanges information regarding standards and operations with the Padma Seshadri chain of schools in Chennai. The school has more than 3000 students. ==Profile== Bhaktavatsalam Vidhyashram based on CBSE was started on 18 June 1990 with 770 students in memory of Shri. M. Bhaktavatsalam the ex-Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. It has grown into a full-fledged senior secondary school affiliated to CBSE, Delhi. It is run by the Bhaktavatsalam Memorial Trust chaired by the chairman and Managing Trustee Dr.KV,.Kuppusamy, an educationist. Sarojini Varadappan is the correspondent. Clubs include Interact Club, International Award for young People, Philately Club, NCC, Scouts and guides, Karuna Club, Astronomy Club, and Nature Club. Situated in the heart of the fast developing area of Korattur the school is surrounded by trees. Co-curricular activities include art, craft, physical education, and music. Students beginning from class 6 onward's borrow the books of their choices from the library . Other features include the computer lab, mathematics lab, and labs for physics,chemistry and biology.
